Welcome to Amy Gillett Foundation e-news, providing news about cycling activities, events and road safety. The AGF is busy working to ensure that you, and those around you, are safe on the roads.

Amy's Ride
Plans are progressing well to have our first Amy's Ride in Canberra in March 2010. To promote the ride, the AGF are putting together a team that will ride from Canberra to Melbourne in late November. This ride will also raise money for the foundation.
The next Amy's Ride in South Australia will be November 1 and in Victoria January 3. Keep a look out on our events page and future newsletters for further updates.

The AGF would like to extend a very big thank you to Vivienne Oilan, Noa Reis, their family and friends for their organisation and participation in the second annual Ami for Amy fundraiser. Their great efforts raised over $4,400 for the foundation and we feel privileged to count them as part of the AGF family.

Cycling News
Sadly there has been news recently of several incidents of cyclist deaths as a result of interaction with vehicles. The Amy Gillett Foundation extends its sympathies to those affected by these tragic events. It is a dreadful reminder of how dangerous our roads can be and how important a role the AGF has to play in making our roads safer.

To encourage new members to the club we are introducing gold and silver levels of membership, gold members donating $1000 per year and silver members donating $500 per year. Silver members will receive the AGF jersey; Gold members will receive, in addition to the jersey, AGF branded bib knicks. $1,000 can cover the cost of 13,000 Road Right flyers or maintain our website for 6 months so your help is very important.
We've also introduced a referral program for members. When five people or organisations sign-up to Club 500 and nominate you as their referee you will be offered a choice of free entry and accommodation for two in one of our annual Amy’s Rides, or a ‘money can’t buy’ experience such as a training ride and lunch with Australian cycling legend Phil Anderson.
AGF News
We've quietly entered the world of social media and now have a fan page on Facebook. Without any promotion we already have 265 fans. We invite you to also become a fan of the Amy Gillett Foundation. We plan to make this a great place to get the latest AGF news including Amy's Rides updates, news from our scholarship winner, Amber Halliday and other AGF events and programs.
